After a break of almost two months, Hubert Laskowski will return to sports competition. This time, however, he will return to the surface on which he “grew up” and will compete in the asphalt Marten Rally Strzelinski. At the same time it will be the sporting debut of the 14-year-old before the Polish spectators.
In the past, the routes around Strzelin hosted, among others, drivers competing in the Polish Automobile and Motorcycle Federation Cup and competitors vying for the title of Poland’s champion in the Peugeot Cup. This weekend the Niemcza-Strzelin Hills will be the arena for duos competing in the MSP Rally Trophy. Before the start, Hubert had the opportunity to test his Peugeot 208 R2 on one of the tracks in Klodzko Land. Driving in rainy conditions allowed him to quickly find the limits of the rally car’s capabilities, which he will be competing against WRC-class cars.
“This weekend the Marten Rally Strzelinski will take place, in which I will start together with Adam Jaros, with whom I have already had the opportunity to compete together. It will be my first start in Poland as a competitor and I am very curious how I will fare against my compatriots. I am also glad that I will be able to show my abilities to Polish fans,” said Hubert.
“Last week I had the opportunity to attend a test where I tried to find the best possible settings for the car and drive as many kilometres as possible. “I ‘grew up” on asphalt, and during testing I realised that I hadn’t had the opportunity to ride on this surface for a year. I quickly found my confidence and got to work, which should bring results by the time of the race in Strzelin. I always feel good on asphalt and I am happy to be back on the “black”,” he said.
The rally weapon will be a Peugeot 208 R2 operated by the Car Speed Racing from Cieszyn. Adam Jaros will sit in the right-hand seat. Sponsors of the young driver are the companies: Intertrade Logistics Limited, Jubi-Tom Jubiler Kobierzyce and Just Profits Club.
