Laskowski will make his debut in the Rally2/R5 class. A 14-year-old with another record!

Hubert Laskowski, who has already proved more than once that despite his young age, he is able to fight against much more experienced drivers, will make one of his rally dreams come true this weekend. The 14-year-old will try his hand at driving a Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo during the Modlin Rally Show.

The event, which is organised by one of the best Polish rally drivers in history Leszek Kuzaj, this year is, for many, a substitute for Barbórka Warszawska, which has been cancelled. This means that the best drivers are sure to appear on the entry list. Jari Huttunen, Polish and world champion in WRC3, has already announced his participation. For Hubert, it will be an extraordinary opportunity to compete against such names. What’s more, he will become the youngest driver in the world to compete in a Rally2/R5 class car. He will go down in history as being exactly 14 years, 10 months and 12 days old.

“I am very surprised and happy that I will have the opportunity to start the rally with a Rally2 class car. Another surprise is that I will make my Polish debut in a four-wheel-drive car. Certainly, the first kilometres will not be easy, as I have never had the opportunity to drive a 4×4 and turbo car. However, I believe that I will adapt quickly to the new conditions, and I will certainly not be the last! Many thanks to everyone who believes in me and makes this start possible!,” said Hubert Laskowski.

“I will be driving a Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo, which I love to drive in virtual competitions. I’m very curious to see how the real car compares to the simulator. I am already looking forward to the coming weekend,” he said.

Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo is the latest rally machine from the Czech manufacturer. What’s more, the car Hubert will be driving is one of the last models. So far, the car has been driven only at the Monza Rally Show. The car will be supplied by Keane Motorsport, while Car Speed Racing from Cieszyn, well known to Hubert, will be responsible for the service. The organiser has prepared a 36-kilometre-long special sections route for the competitors.

Michał Kuśnierz will sit on the right seat of the rally car. The young driver’s sponsors are Intertrade Logistics Limited, Jubi-Tom Jubiler Kobierzyce, Just Profits Club and Finish A Racing.

“A few years ago, when Hubert’s manager and I were setting up a career development plan, we agreed that it would be good for Hubert to be able to sit behind the wheel of a four-wheel-drive car at the age of 15. This weekend we will make it happen, and so far, all plans are going according to our expectations. What’s more, they are being implemented better than one hundred per cent, as his fifteenth birthday will only be in January,” said Michał Kuśnierz.

“The main objective of our race is a clean and flawless ride, which will certainly guarantee us a successful finish. We have no pressure at all. We want to accumulate experience and drive kilometres that will definitely help in further development,” he said.
