Victory and podiums for 15-year-old at the start of the Latvian championships

The Liepāja Rally, which opened this year’s battle for the Latvian championship titles in rallies and rallysprints, showed that Hubert Laskowski is well-prepared for the season and has scored consecutive triumphs.

While for the competitors of the European championship the Latvian competition took place in the form of one round, the teams fighting in the national championship had two rounds of the series in one weekend. This means that a lot of points could be accumulated in a single start.

Hubert Laskowski once again showed his great performance. The 15-year-old finished the first round in third place in the LRC4 class (a class designed for Rally4 and R2 cars) and among juniors. In the second round it was even better, and Hubert stood on the second step of the podium twice.

“Another successful start behind us. The battle on the Liepāja Rally was, as expected, extremely tough, but we took up the gauntlet and we can celebrate another success at the finish line. I am glad to have completed more valuable kilometres, which will certainly allow me to fight for the final triumph in the future. Suffice it to say that we competed against, among others, a former European junior champion, whom I would like to defeat in a sporting fight in the future,” said Hubert.

In addition, the first round of the Latvian rallysprint championship was organised at the Liepāja Rally. The winners were determined by timings on three special sections. Hubert and Michal Kuśnierz were unbeatable and defeated the other team by almost one and a half minutes!

“Victory in this style tastes great. Obviously my main goal was to compete in the Latvian Rally Championship. However, I do not take rallysprints lightly and the trophy for the victory will certainly not end up in the attic,” said Hubert.

“I am very satisfied with this rally. We were already able to ride these sections last year and there was a clear progression this season. Hubert is great at riding fast sections leading over peaks. In several places we flew really far. However, everything was planned and we did not make any mistakes. The description worked great and the car is fine all at the finish, so we have no reason to complain,” said Michał Kuśnierz.
