The sixteen year-old Hubert Laskowski, who has already proven many times that he is the biggest young rally talent in Poland, will take on a new challenge. He will start his fight in the Croatian Championships behind the wheel of the four-wheel drive Ford Fiesta Rally3 this weekend!
The sixteen year-old will face a new challenge after switching to a four-wheel drive design and showing great pace at the beginning of the season. After years spent on gravel, Hubert will return to his favourite surface, i.e. asphalt, with which he has been bonded since childhood. The motorsports history of The Latvian Junior Champion started with kart racing in which he also celebrated a lot of success.
– This weekend I will be fighting in the first Croatian Championships round, i.e. the Quattro River Rally. It will not be an easy task. In fact, this will be my first asphalt rally in which I will battle for the best times. However, I feel very good on asphalt. I think I am more experienced on asphalt thanks to my past kart racing to which I devoted most of my career, Hubert said.
The first round features seven special stages. At the beginning, the crews will face the Korana super special of 6.49 km. The second day will feature two passages of the Kupa (15.20 km), Dobra (11.12 km) and Mreznica (15.60 km) sections. Most of the route overlaps with the stages of the World Rally Championship’s Croatian Rally. We will know the winners on Sunday around 16.00.
As part of his preparations, Hubert tested his Ford Fiesta Rally3 on one of the Polish special stages. The testing was conducted in the Stołowe Mountains. The experience gained allowed for finding confidence prior to the proper start.
– We were able to test our Ford Fiesta Rally3 on Friday. The car was excellent thanks to the Car Speed Racing crew. We tweaked the settings that will enable us to move quickly across the Croatian special stages. I am very happy that the stages overlap with those covered by the best drivers during the Croatian Rally. Getting to know the stages will pay off in the future, Hubert added.
