The toughest challenge of Hubert Laskowski’s career. The 16-year-old has measured himself against the best in the world.
19 July 2022Hubert Laskowski goes for second title of national champion!
7 October 2022Hubert Laskowski, who competed on the routes of the Lõuna-Eesti Ralli last weekend, won the Latvian rally championship in his class! This is another title for the 16-year-old!
The round of the Estonian and Latvian championships was the Lõuna-Eesti Ralli, held in Estonia. Hubert, who is co-driven by Michal Kuśnierz sitting on the right-hand seat, went into battle as the season’s class leader. The young driver did his job perfectly and, with his victory in the Latvian championship round, won the title in the LRC3 class a round before the end of the competition! In the Estonian championship, Hubert was second, but retained the leading position in the EMV3 class.
The Lõuna-Eesti Ralli was a very difficult event, exactly as we expected before the start. In addition, on the second day I opened the competition, which did not make the task any easier. This experience was new to me and I didn’t know exactly what to expect. We finished the competition in second place in the EMV3 class, said Hubert, who can count on the technical support of the Polish branch of M-Sport.
It was also the round of the Latvian championship, which we won without any problems. The most important thing was to get to the finish line to get a full set of points. We did it and won the championship titles in the LRC3 class a round before the end of the season! I am very satisfied with this rally. Michał and I made no mistakes. Our pace from the start was what we expected. It really wasn’t easy to compete with local drivers. I am happy that we won second place losing only six seconds to the winner, said Hubert.
This year, the organisers have prepared ten special sections with a total length of over one hundred kilometres. The first stage took place on Friday evening. The competitors tackled the Voru Linn (1.35 km) and Ruusmae (6.23 km) special sections twice. Saturday was marked by three repeated challenges: Vaskna (14.10 km), Heinasoo (18.10 km) and Kurgjarve (10.35 km). Hubert and Michał were the fastest on the five special sections. They obtained second places on four of them, and they came third once.
We are very pleased with another well-run rally. We have collected a lot of points. Certainly no less than experiences. Another not insignificant contribution was the excellent performance of the Car Speed Racing team. They have been very supportive in helping us achieve these results. We had set-ups for almost every condition from an urban super super section to a loop where we dusted the track, Michał Kuśnierz said.
I’m happy that our pace was so good and we reached the finish without any damage. Our main competitor, who beat us by only six seconds, came off almost every stage with a badly damaged car. This means that he was driving outside the limit. I am very impressed with Hubert, who keeps going faster and faster with every rally, is more mature and makes no mistakes. This is very important in his development, Michał added.
The partners of the young driver include Marten, Pirelli, Intertrade Logistics Limited, Jubi-Tom Jubiler Kobierzyce and Atech Racing Polska. The Car Speed Racing is responsible for the car’s servicing.
