The 15-year-old is fighting as an equal. Great start of the Lithuanian championship

The Žemaitija Rally, which opened competition in the Lithuanian and Polish rally championships, proved fantastic for 15-year-old Hubert Laskowski. The young driver co-driven by Adam Jaros impressed the entire rally world with his results.

Already the first special section through the streets of Kielmy gave signs that it was going to be a good weekend. Hubert, at the age of fifteen, won his first career section in his class at a rally of national championship rank.

A first section triumph, even if in a class, is something special. I spent many years in karting and on the streets of Kielmy I felt as happy as a clam at high water. On a short trial I also showed that there is a lot to be gained from it, while many treat it only as a warm-up, said Hubert.

The asphalt section was only a prelude to what would happen the day after. On gravel routes Hubert showed the full range of his abilities, which allowed him to win the junior classification and second place in the LARC4 class. That is still not enough! Hubert and Adam finished eighth out of 56 single-wheel drive teams, fifth among front-wheel drive teams. Fifth place is also a result in the 2WD class in the Lithuanian championship.

Already after testing I knew that the Peugeot 208 Rally4 was the car for me. In addition, I became very familiar with Pirelli tyres and was able to use all the tools I was given for the job. It was obvious that the goal was the finish line, because at my age and with my abilities, every kilometre I complete matters. However, the good pace I presented also gave a signal to the world that it might be worth taking an interest in my person. I would like to thank everyone who supported me with kind words during the rally and congratulated me on my results at the finish line. I haven’t forgotten the MartenSport team who took me under their wing and Adam Jaros, my co-driver. Without them I could watch this rally at home. I know that I did my best and, as promised, I did not let my fans down, said Hubert.

The plan we set out has been fulfilled, so we returned home in good spirits. We know what we still need to work on and improve in order to be even more self-confident on the road in future starts. Hubert became fast friends with his new car, and it liked Hubert as well. This gives us a good feeling before the next starts, said Adam Jaros.
